What to expect when buying a property in Dubai

We’re not going to sugar coat it: buying a home anywhere can be stressful. Even more so here in Dubai with all of the paperwork and local systems to navigate. But in the 14 years since we started, we’ve learnt a thing or two about how to make it as painless as possible.


Here’s our no-nonsense guide to how:

1. Sort your finances first

We always suggest you speak to a broker before you start seriously looking at properties – there’s nothing worse than finding the perfect home only to find it’s not doable financially. Or, perhaps worse, missing out on your dream home because you didn’t have your mortgage pre-approval. 

We’ll tell you exactly what you can afford, the fees you’ll need to pay and then find you the best mortgage deal.

2. Find your dream home

Now you know how much you’ve got to play with, it’s time to meet some real estate agents and start viewing properties.

3. Then let us handle to not-so-fun part

Once your offer has been accepted, there’s a lot to do before the sale can go through, including agreeing contracts, completing the valuation and getting your final mortgage approval before transferring titles. 

It sounds like a lot, and it is, but we’ve got a whole team of people to guide you through the process and take as much off your hands as possible. We’ll let you know the next step, speak to the relevant people and help arrange appointments.

How much does it cost? 

There are several fees buyers pay when purchasing property in Dubai. But rather than list them all out and make you do a whole host of mental gymnastics, speak to us and we can tell you what they’ll be.

How long does it take?

Between four and eight weeks usually, possibly longer if the property you’re buying already has a mortgage on it.
